Conference Tours

The Conference organisers have reserved Thursday afternoon, 1 December 2011, for free time so you can explore Adelaide and nearby attractions. Three tours have been organised at the discounted rates shown below. You can purchase a ticket for yourself and accompanying persons for any of the following three tours when you register for the conference. Each description includes a link to the tour operator's website, but please reserve your tour ticket through the Conference registration system, not the tour operator.

  • Aboriginal Cultural Tour
    (This is a private tour specifically for Conference participants and accompanying persons)

    Join your tour guide on a local tour around Adelaide for an enjoyable and informative tour experience with a difference. Learn about traditional Aboriginal life, the impact of European settlement and the role Aboriginal people have played in the development of Adelaide and its surrounding areas. Experience Aboriginal environments and learn about Australian native animals. The tour includes the Adelaide Botanic Gardens, South Australian Museum and the Tandanya National Aboriginal Cultural Institute.

  • Cleland Wildlife Park Tour
    The Cleland Wildlife Park is located in the picturesque Cleland National Park within the rolling hills of the Mount Lofty Ranges. Wander around the park and come face to face with some real Australian wildlife such as kangaroos, wallabies, emus, and many other well known Australian birds and reptiles. You may even get to cuddle a koala.

  • "Life is a Cabernet" Wine Tour
    The tour starts by driving through the beautiful Adelaide Hills to visit the Adelaide Hills Winery, home of Petaluma wines. Then driving into the McLaren Vale where you will visit two more wineries before heading back to Adelaide via the coastal route. Refreshments are also provided on the bus.
